The History Center is partnering with Village at Ithaca to present Village of Quilts. Beautiful contemporary home-made quilts will be on display in June and will be auctioned off to support Village at Ithaca's work!

Opening Night on June 1, 2012, 5 to 8pm

quilt Historic Quilts Unwrapped
The History Center is collaborating with the Tompkins County Quilters Guild to present Historic Quilts Unwrapped and re-house gems from The History Center's quilt collection. Come and watch Guild members work on historic quilts on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons!

Why are Ithaca and Tompkins County places that people come to/move back to/stay in to play out their passions? Panelists will address what it is about Ithaca and the County that supports their goals and their dreams. Their stories encourage us to think about our interactions with our communities.

The "big shelf" situated in our main gallery shows an eclectic selection of curiosities from our main collection. Come and look at objects that people in Tompkins County used in their daily lives, from an old-fashion bicycle to a chamber pot....

The Spinny Wall
Located in a corner of our main gallery, a panel of spinning old photograph reproductions tell the stories of ordinary - and extraordinary - people who once lived in Tompkins County.
