Local history is especially important in a place such as Tompkins County that is such a rich and interesting place to live in the present.  - Bill Block, Trustee

In the past year, The History Center has provided programming and services to continue the rich and interesting present noted by Bill Block, our newest Board of Trustees member. As our mission states, we help people use the tools of history to understand the past, gain perspective on the present, and play an informed role in shaping the future. These tools have included our library and reference services; many education programs; the Living History program; the Eight Square School House, History Cafés, Family Days and other presentations; and our exhibits.
