Create a Beaded Pouch from
an Authentic Iroquois Pattern
Wednesday, the 18th of February
10am-12pm
People of every tribe used small bags or pouches
to carry things in. They had pouches to hold everyday things like
sewing tools and special ones to carry pipes or body paints used in
ceremonies. "Strike-a-Light" pouches were used
to carry flint for making fire - something every home needed. See some historical
pouches made by local Native Americans from our collections, and then make your
own pouch to decorate and take home using an authentic Iroquois pattern.
Ages 8-12. $12 per student for a 2 hour class.
Limited space available, pre-registration required.
Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About
KNITTING
Friday, the 20th of February

animals, insects and plants. Make your own double-pointed wooden knitting
needles. Begin to knit with sample yarns. Take home a pattern for
a knit washcloth and your own needles.
Ages 8-12. $12 per student for a 2 hour class.
Spring Break Special: Pay $20 for both sessions.
