Waiting for the parade on State & Tioga Streets

Have you taken a walk in downtown Ithaca lately? Well, dust off your walking shoes and get moving.  The History Center is proud to introduce our brand new self-guided historical walking tour entitled Step Through Time in Downtown Ithaca

Planned for debut on May 20 during The History Center’s Tompkins Trust Company Community Open House, Step through Time in Downtown Ithaca features an interpretive guide filled with historical references, photographs, and an easy-to-use map. The guide comes with a palm-size slide viewer called the HistoryCam, containing a dozen historical photographs of downtown Ithaca , Selected from The History Center’s Photo Archives, the antique scenes are rich with local landmarks and illustrate the stories of downtown Ithaca ’s vibrant history.
