Ithaca Aviation Heritage Foundation
The Ithaca Aviation Heritage Foundation (IAHF) is a group of aviation enthusiasts who regularly meet in the Finger Lakes to discuss aviation history and collaborate on events celebrating human adventures in the sky. IAHF spent 14 years restoring a Thomas Morse Scout S4-B (originally built in Ithaca NY around 1918 by the Thomas Morse Corporation). This fully restored "Tommy" plane flew on September 29th 2018 100 years after it first came off the assembly line in Ithaca. Tommy now lives in the Exhibit Hall of The History Center in Tompkins County as a permanent exhibit. IAHF partners with The History Center for a number of public educational programs related to aviation history each year.
IAHF Mission:
Preserve the heritage of aviation and the aviation industry in Central New York.
Prepare the future of aviation by exposing today’s youth to the science, excitement and thrill of flight.
Inspire people of all ages to discover the excitement of aviation through hands-on programs that will promote learning through doing.
