The History Center in Tompkins County is located in the beautifully renovated Gateway Center, one block east of the Commons in Ithaca. (607)273-8284.
Turn East on Green Street. Continue past the Cayuga Street traffic light and under an overpass. Bear right at the yield sign at the State Street intersection. Make an immediate right into Gateway Center and proceed to the parking area on the east side of the building.
Descend Rte 79 (a.k.a. East State Street) to the foot of the hill. Stay to the left. Near the bottom of the hill, turn left into the Gateway Center entrance and proceed to the parking area on the east side of the building.
Descend the hill past Ithaca College into the Ithaca (a.k.a. South Aurora Street). When you reach the bottom, bear right just before reaching the stop light and continue to turn right onto East State Street. Continue through the first light, and turn right into the Gateway Center entrance and proceed to the parking area on the east side of the building.
All major TCAT bus routes go to East Green Street. Keep walking on the same side of the sidewalk toward East State Street; The History Center is just 5 minutes away from Green Street bus stops.
A bike rack is available near Ithaca Coffee Company and on the South side of the Gateway Center.
Parking is available in open spots marked "Gateway Center Client Parking."
