Description

Yea God!: The true story of a spiritual leader named Freedom who led his followers from Eastern Mysticism to Christianity - by Lorraine Pakkala Published by The Crossing Press, 1980 "He sat on a bench in Central Park in traditional Eastern garb, with long hair and a flowing beard. The people who came to sit at his feet were not penniless flower children: some were engineers and teachers, one a psychiatrist, several women had fortunes of over a million dollars. His teaching was basically Hindu. His message was peace and love. His name was Freedom. He and his devotees traveled twice across the United States by bus, searching for the place where they could commune with God and attain nirvana. They found that place in Ithaca, New York, where the author Lorraine Pakkala lives. From her close vantage point she saw these people struggling spiritually and she was there when they finally broke from Eastern mysticism and became converts to Christianity."
